Installation

FMud is packaged as an swf file suitable for embedding within a webpage. A sample html file is included in the download package. This html file contains the minimum code necessary to embed FMud in a webpage, although more complex configurations are possible.

The latest version of Flash Player also requires a policy file on the server to allow socket connections. A sample policy xml file and script to serve this are provided in the download. See this post for more information. New in version 0.7 is the ability to specify the port you wish to serve a socket policy file. This means game administrators without root access can now successfully use FMud by binding the policy file server script to a port above 1024.

Basic use

Type your commands in the input box at the bottom of the main window. Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through your previous commands.

The settings window is used to set colours, command echo and other preferences. FMud supports normal and bright versions of red, green, blue, magenta, cyan, black and white foreground colours. The command echo option displays your last command in the output window.

Information on aliases, triggers, macros and scripting in FMud is here.

The editor window allows you to easily enter multiline text to the mud, for example when making a news or bulletin post.
